The MCSE confirms your ability to analyze the business requirements for information systems solutions and to design/implement infrastructures based on Windows Server 2003.

Will the MCSE expire?

Take a quick look at
Microsoft’s job search showing many high level positions still requiring a MCSE 2003.

Even though MCSE 2003 Certification sounds dated most technology professionals still regard the 2003 MCSE as the current certification. Read forums and websites on the Internet, they are still advising those looking to get into the field to focus on getting the MCSE 2003.

Corporates are not looking to rush into a system wide upgrade right away.

Microsoft has provided a two exam upgrade path from MCSE the MCITP and MCTS certification.

For MCSE on Server 2003, just one
Microsoft certification upgrade exam is required to get three 2008 MCTS certifications: Active Directory, Network Infrastructure, Applications Infrastructure Configuration.

Is the MCSE still worth getting?

Yes Yes Yes!

Windows Server 2003 will continue to be the dominant installed Microsoft Server product for at least a few more years and for the better part of a decade.

IT professionals who can demonstrate skill in 2003 and 2008 platforms and migrate Server 2003 to Server 2008 will be highly sought after.

The MCSE 2003 will grow for the next several years!

So don't delay, get your MCSE 2003 Certification then upgrade to MCITP 2008.
